NEKYNOIA is an evolving interdisciplinary music and performance project built around one fundamental idea: transformation begins with a journey inward.
Nekyia is a descent into the unknown — toward darkness, memory and confrontation.
Metanoia is a profound transformation of consciousness — a fundamental change in perception and being.
Together they form NEKYNOIA: a contemporary artistic universe where sound, myth, literature, philosophy and immersive visual language converge.

Chapter I
The first journey begins with Attar
The Conference
of the Birds
The first major chapter of NEKYNOIA draws inspiration from The Conference of the Birds, the mystical masterpiece by Persian poet Farid al-Din Attar.
Thousands of birds set out in search of the legendary Simurgh. To reach it, they must cross seven valleys — each stripping away another certainty.
At the end of the journey, the surviving birds discover that the sovereign they were seeking is, symbolically, themselves.

Sound
Between ancient memory and contemporary sound.
Electronic textures meet acoustic performance. Traditional instruments coexist with synthesis, cinematic sound design and contemporary production.
Live
The journey becomes a performance.
Live musicians, electronic elements, voice, lighting, projection, scenography and visual storytelling become one performance architecture.
Visual World
Symbols of transformation.
Ancient symbols are reconstructed through contemporary visual art, geometry, costume, stage design and moving image.
The Journey Continues
Chapter I is only the beginning.
The Conference of the Birds establishes the first world of NEKYNOIA. It does not define its limits.
Future chapters may encounter other mystics, writers, philosophies, myths and cultural traditions — each becoming the foundation for a new body of music, performance and visual work.
The connecting thread is not geography, religion or historical period. It is human transformation.

NEKYNOIA was conceived and created by Siamak Abbasi as a framework through which music can engage with literature, mythology, philosophy and the experience of inner transformation.
The project is developed from Dubai with an international and collaborative outlook, bringing together musicians, artists, designers and creative practitioners from different disciplines and cultural backgrounds.
